Ionic foot spas range from 1 amp all the way up to 36 amps with 12 amp models being the highest off the shelf I have found.

Buyer beware: Everyone is asking for 5 amp foot spas as that is the most advertised off the shelf highest amperage foot spa. There are a lot of 5 amp ionic foot baths popping up but know that 5 amp "input" amperage is not the same as 5 amp "output" amperage. The models that are AC powered must convert the input amperage and its almost always less unless dealing with motors where there is gear ratios involved.

You can find a 5 amp ionic foot bath for under 500 and some that are 5 amps that cost close to 2000 dollars. Don't get scammed by getting 5 amp input powered ionic foot spas thinking they are delivering 5 amps to the arrays.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT AMPERAGE

How much amperage is really needed to pull toxins from the body and how much amperage is needed to deliver the right amount of negative ions?

As the amperage goes up the more the arrays must need 316L steel or the high current going to the plate can just leach metal into the water and the arrays wear out faster.

The 2 amp "output power" models don't have as much pulling power and its ok if they have steel that oxidizes quicker.

Not everyone can handle the higher amperage baths as their bodies aren't ready for the pulling power it makes. If a bath is pulling 3 times as much, its like not like doing 3 foot baths at lower power, its 3 times as pulling. You need super heavy duty cables and a control unit to deliver this much power but super toxic people might not be able to handle this much pulling.

You know when the actual amperage going into the water when the arrays are making the water really warm. Some people put more salt than recommend but this makes the foot bath work harder than the model is made for and is when usually these break and have to be sent back to be refurbished and repaired.

I am not against buying cheap Chinese foot baths with lower amperage. Not all people are using these for heavy detox. Many companies won't offer this much amperage in their ionic foot spas because it can be a liability.There are now companies that I have found that you would never find unless you searched off the internet that makes custom power supplies with their foot spas. Having too much amperage creating too much ions in too short of time can be less therapeutic if the body can't handle the amount of toxins that are leaching out to fast.
