Some ionic foot spas have a lower session time and others can take twice to three times as long to get the same detox.

The treatment times depends on how many ions the arrays give off per session. Having a combination of high amperage and voltage with arrays that are big enough to deliver the power and don't leach as much metal into the water will continue to release the most ions into the water.

NOTE: many foot spas work great at first and you see all the bubbling but once the arrays deteriorate, there is a rare chance of them giving you the same ion output though the 50 or so sessions that the array is rated for. Sure, all arrays can last 50 sessions if they say so but the bubbling and ion output gets less and less with each usage. There are only a few companies that the arrays are built to last over 100 sessions but they rate them for 50 sessions to get a therapeutic session. What good is a session if its only producing half the ions as when the plate is new.

So when they say they recommend 30 minute sessions, the way I've found is that each time I use it I add 1 extra minute per session as the arrays age. If I used it 20 times, then on the 21st session I will take a 51 minutes session. I don't have to worry about this if I get a model that has jumbo size plates that are actually thick enough and big enough so that the diminished ion ouput doesnt matter. I have never found jumbo size arrays on low voltage machines because the amperage is not high enough to power them and having jumbo size plates would be overkill.

If for detox, some people want to take a longer treatment time and get a lower amperage foot bath. Some people that want to do lymphatic drainage and are taking probiotics and can actually handle the higher amperage baths, then a higher amperage model might be better. If the body can't handle quick treatment times, then I would not advise it.

As some models age and the arrays get diminished, I want to know that when they do clinical studies, do they put a new array in it each time or do they use the same array for 50 sessions as they say. For this reason, I don't use the arrays till the maximum life span. I sell arrays at my cost for anyone who bought their foot spa for me. It can get expensive to use fresh arrays so I get volume pricing on arrays so people can get the most benefit from their sessions and keep the session time lower if needed. Those with Dowager's Hump who don't like

A good sign that the treatment time are not deflated and I am not going to have to stay in longer than they claim is if the spa uses direct current DC powered. DC power is the current that is similar to the current going through our body. I can get the cheaper AC current spas from China and they are way less expensive. See my ionic foot spas around 500 dollars if you can only afford one of these although I have picked the best ones in that price range I have reviewed.
