Below are my results after comparing nearly every ionic foot bath on the market for the last 8 years.
I have reviewed nearly every footbath detoxification bath on the market and if I could sum up my findings in one statement it would be this “In this niche industry you get what you pay for!”
This ionic foot bath industry is very loosely regulated and the most of the foot baths for sale are imported from China and not very well made, use very poor quality parts, and there is little to no support if needed (even buying replacement arrays can be difficult). Also, the quality of cleanse of those footbaths are way inferior to the brands I talk about below. Each of the models below have extreme differences. The IonCleanse has very low amperage while the D-Tox Monster has the highest amperage of all brands I have tested. The EBpro has no ripple. If you are interested in the best results I recommend any one these brands: The IonCleanse by A Major Difference, (AMD), the EBPRO by (Erchonia), or the D-TOX Monster.
Both the IonCleanse and Erchonia units have been around for over a decade. When calling around to practitioners (doctors, colon hydrotherapists, chiropractors, etc.) that use ionic footbath detoxification in their business, these 2 brands are by far the most popular. Both of these units are very safe (remember, it's mixing electricity and water). The IonCleanse uses a medical grade power supply to achieve their safety approvals while the EBPRO achieves this with a battery operated unit. Both companies are well respected. Regardless of the brand chosen, I expect these machines I've reviewed to last at least 10 years (the battery on the EBPRO will need to be replaced but not anytime soon) and both companies have dedicated customer support.
Since the EBPRO is a battery operated model, the EBPRO has the benefit of not having to plug it all the time and can be done almost anywhere. It weighs about 20 pounds. The IonCleanse is lightweight but does not have a battery and needs to be plugged in. The Ioncleanse power cord is a little over 9 feet long. Both companies are based out of the USA are the manufacturer. They build their own machines and are not imports from China. Both companies have an A+ rated company with the Better Business Bureau.
When comparing the quality of cleanse (the detoxification effect), the IonCleanse system and the EBRO excelled. Although these units are more expensive up front, they provide the most value and deliver what most people are seeking as far as detoxification.
As far as which one is better than the other, the EBPRO is portable and ha no ripple at all what so ever as its battery powered and not from an outlet and the IonCleanse is a plug in type but has a medical grade power supply and is registered by the FDA which 99.99% of these foot spas are not. There are give and take on each model so depending on the type of detox, one is usually preferred over the other. The EBPRO works quicker and can generate more ions without ripple but the Ioncleanse has more programs and has a dual mode and takes about double the time, 30 to 45 minutes instead of 18 to 23 minutes.
Note: I want to make a note that nearly all of the manufacturers I work with once I asked the about the EB305 and Ioncleanse got all defensive when I mentioned it. They all had a problem with putting the EBPRO on my site as they said that theirs was better. When everyone compares their ionic foot spa better than theirs and the main thing they say is that its over priced. They almost all say that their spa is just as good as theirs. The EBPRO and the IonCleanse compete in the high end foot spa market.
The Ioncleanse is super low ripple and the D-TOX Monster and EBPRO are no ripple. The D-tox monster is so high in amperage that most people can't handle it with their super high amperage models. Many people who are already fatigued will get super tired, not just relaxed but fatigued after this type of foot bath. I only promote the D-Tox Monster when in certain situations.
UPDATE: I HAVE TAKEN DOWN THIS SEGMENT OF MY SITE AS A CERTAIN MANUFACTURE DISAGREES WITH MY COMPARISON BETWEEN THE BRANDS ON THIS PAGE.
I have found the Ioncleanse, the EBPRO and the D-Tox Monster to be the 3 brands that I have had the most positive feedback on, the least amount of complaints and returns on. Each are different in the way that they and depending on the voltage of the body which can easily be checked, some people can do better with low amps and some higher. Many people cannot handle too much voltage and look for lower voltage ionic foot spas. NOTE: I've learned that the models with high amperage that have high ripple can work less hard than the low amperage models with low ripple. Many people look for the highest amperage but have no idea about ripple or if low or higher voltage is better for them. The EBPRO has zero ripple and low amperage and is one of the most powerful ionic foot baths on the market. I've talked to companies that put down the EBPRO for having low amperage and say their higher amperage model is better. Meanwhile, they are selling some Chinese import and can't answer any of MY questions. They don't even know what ripple effect is. Most high amperage foot baths have high ripple which can make them less powerful than even the lowest amperage machines.
Aside from the type of ionic foot bath, the type of salt make the most difference. I prefer the clear himalayan salt rocks (that I have to personally pick out of the reddish ones with the high iron oxide. Some salt is pinkish but when it is ground up even the pink salt refracts clear or whitish when ground into powder. The salt I like the best is brinefree salt that has been washed for 3 years to remove the brine. It is expensive but super alkaline salt and my favorite to put in my foot bath.
Take my quiz below and I will choose an ionic foot bath based on your answers. Not everyone needs the highest amperage and many people due to getting too tired after sessions require a lower voltage and amperage and low ripple.
